‘Five Eyes’ Allies Warns that China is Recruiting Former Fighter Pilots

Intelligence agencies alert troops to Beijing’s efforts to gather combat tactics using high-salary offers and personal connections.

Intelligence agencies from the U.S. and allied nations are alerting troops about attempts by the Chinese military to hire former fighter pilots to gain insight into allied combat tactics and techniques. A joint threat bulletin from the “Five Eyes” intelligence coalition, comprised of the U.S., U.K., Australia, Canada, and New Zealand, warned that private firms with ties to the Chinese military use high salaries and opportunities to fly unique aircraft in their recruitment efforts. These firms often focus on military pilots, flight engineers, and air operations personnel.

“To overcome their shortcomings, China’s People’s Liberation Army has been aggressively recruiting Western military talent to train their aviators, using private firms around the globe that conceal their PLA ties and offer recruits exorbitant salaries,” U.S. National Counterintelligence and Security Center Director Michael Casey said in a joint threat bulletin.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For wisdom for U.S. and allied intelligence officials as they seek to alert former military personnel of the recruitment efforts by China.
  • For U.S. veterans as they seek to transition and adapt from active duty into civilian life.
